On The Day

The Old Station Buildings on Berry Lane will act as the hub for Create Longridge day.

Artists will be registering from 8am at The Old Station Buildings. When they have their canvasses verified as being blank at the start, we will also be mapping each artist’s painting location so visitors to Create Longridge can plan a route taking in as many artists as they want. Maps will be available for visitors to take away.

The textile fringe event will start at 10am at PLM Gym’s Studio space on Kestor Lane.

The first of the children’s art classes, for school years 3 – 6, commences at 10am and finishes at noon in the Young People’s Centre on Berry Lane. The second class, for secondary school children commences at 2pm and finishes at 5pm in the same venue.

Artists have the opportunity to paint until 6pm although they are able to submit finished work whenever they are ready. Completed paintings will be returned to the Old Station Buildings for judging which will start at 6:15pm. The announcement of the winning painting will be made on Create Longridge day in The Old Station Buildings.

An exhibition and sale of all the paintings created on the day will start on Sunday 4th September from 11am – 4pmat Longridge Gallery, 78 Berry Lane. The exhibition runs for a week thereafter.

BBC1 will be filming throughout the day for a programme scheduled to be screened in the autumn.
